Lansing’s Hardest Working Band

Jenn’s Apartment Featured in the Lansing City Pulse

The boys in Jenn’s Apartment (Lansing’s hardest working band), are back with our first full-length album in six years. Eat Rich is a loud, catchy, basement-built punk record with plenty to say about the world we’re all living in.

We were recently featured in Lansing City Pulse! The article, written by Nicole Noechel takes a look at the making of the new album, our DIY recording process, the ideas behind the songs, and why we’re still proud to be called one of Lansing’s hardest-working bands.

Written and recorded in our drummer Justin’s basement, the new album pulls inspiration from early-2000s punk rock. It takes aim at billionaires, political absurdity, and the nonstop chaos of modern life. We wanted to record what’s on our minds while keeping the hooks big and the energy high.

The article also gets into some of the behind-the-scenes challenges that came with making the album. This includes basement recording troubles to the streaming delays that kept the record off major platforms at first. Thankfully, that part is behind us now as Eat Rich is officially available on all streaming platforms thank to our new music distributor, CD Baby.

You can listen wherever you get your music. Better yet, come hear the songs live at an upcoming Jenn’s Apartment show.

We’re excited to keep playing, writing, recording, and making noise around Lansing and beyond. Every release, every show, and every basement session is part of what keeps this band moving forward. We’re grateful to everyone who has listened, shared the album, come to a show, bought merch, or helped keep this whole thing fun.
