Jenn’s Apartment Bio
Jenn’s Apartment is a Lansing, Michigan rock power trio making loud, hook-heavy songs. Their sound pulls from ’90s alternative, early 2000s punk, and emo, with ringing guitars, big harmonies, and a rhythm section that knows better than to let anything drag.
The band was first formed in 2004 by songwriter and guitarist Roy Kirby. After an early run of shows and releases, Jenn’s Apartment came back in 2014 with bassist Chris Davis and drummer Justin Pine. Since then, the trio has kept busy releasing EPs and full-length records, playing shows across Michigan, and building a solid local following. In 2019, they built their own studio so they could record and release music on their own schedule.
What sets Jenn’s Apartment apart is the contrast. The music is catchy, upbeat, and built to hit hard live, while the lyrics lean into real-life messes like divorce, addiction, and learning things the hard way. It’s honest without being miserable, fun without being dumb, and loud without losing the point.
